Eat, Drink, and Schedule some “Stress Management!”
These days, along with healthy diet and exercise, stress management is considered a primary component of health. What do experts mean by the term exactly? Controlling stress involves 1) identifying the sources of stress, 2) creating patterns so that they are manageable, and 3) taking steps to help your mind and body recover from the effects. For each person, these three levels of stress management may be a little bit different. Some of us may benefit from actually scheduling stress-free moments into our day, like 10 minutes of breathing techniques or meditation. Others benefit from yoga, exercise, a bath with essential oils, a good book, or a walk around the block. In any case, it’s important to remember that stress management each day is important, so don’t think of it as an indulgence. It is a key component of feeling healthy and happy.
Do you get stress relief in a way that could benefit others too? Tell us your secret!

Adrenal support is on the best ways to protect against stress levels. Chronic stress tends to overwork the adrenal glands so that they can’t function properly. Many herbs provide adrenal support, especially certain adaptogenic herbs such as rhodiola, ashwagandha, schisandra, eleuthro, and licorice. Tell us about some ways in which you’ve added “adrenal support” to your daily habits.

I’m currently dealing with a multitude of stressful events in my life (sick family members, parenting issues) and am always on the lookout for stress management techniques. Over a year ago, I was almost 260 pounds and was able to lose a substantial amount of weight (almost 80 pounds) through calorie restriction and exercise. However, I’m now coming to a point in that journey where I realize I need to look at what exactly I’m eating and what exactly I’m doing to help not only my weight, but how I cope with the stress in my life. I’m doing alot better at making smarter food choice which I believe has helped me feel more energized and deal with the stress in my life. I never skip a meal, in fact, I eat about 6 times a day (evenly spaced out throughout the day). I try to eat almonds, berries, lowfat dairy, whole grains, whey protein, green leafy vegetables and other superfoods with every meal or snack. I’m also becoming more aware of the bad foods I never knew were bad because they were packaged in products touting themselves as “diet” or “light” foods…..now high fructose corn syrup is one of many ingredients on my “no buy” list. Improving my nutrition, along with smart exercise, is what’s really helping my stress level!
