		<description>I&#039;m currently dealing with a multitude of stressful events in my life (sick family members, parenting issues) and am always on the lookout for stress management techniques. Over a year ago, I was almost 260 pounds and was able to lose a substantial amount of weight (almost 80 pounds) through calorie restriction and exercise. However, I&#039;m now coming to a point in that journey where I realize I need to look at what exactly I&#039;m eating and what exactly I&#039;m doing to help not only my weight, but how I cope with the stress in my life. I&#039;m doing alot better at making smarter food choice which I believe has helped me feel more energized and deal with the stress in my life. I never skip a meal, in fact, I eat about 6 times a day (evenly spaced out throughout the day). I try to eat almonds, berries, lowfat dairy, whole grains, whey protein, green leafy vegetables and other superfoods with every meal or snack. I&#039;m also becoming more aware of the bad foods I never knew were bad because they were packaged in products touting themselves as &quot;diet&quot; or &quot;light&quot; foods.....now high fructose corn syrup is one of many ingredients on my &quot;no buy&quot; list. Improving my nutrition, along with smart exercise, is what&#039;s really helping my stress level!</description>

Some of us may benefit from actually scheduling stress-free moments into our day, like 10 minutes of breathing techniques or meditation.  Others benefit from yoga, exercise, a bath with essential oils, a good book, or a walk around the block.  In any case, it’s important to remember that stress management each day is important, so don’t think of it as an indulgence.  It is a key component of feeling healthy and happy.
