Great interview, great guest! I’ve been coupling pro-biotics with some anti-biotics I’ve had to take and it seems to really reduce the havoic the anti-biotics can create on the digestive system!

I agree, this interview is my favorite yet! Smoothies are a great way to get kids to take superfoods such as blueberries.

This is a great, informative series. I wish we had a Whole Foods Market here in Wichita…

Interesting. I will have to look into pro-biotics some more. I had never heard of them before this. Thanks for the informative podcast! I will check out the others soon.

Luckily my daughter has always loved plain organic yogurt. She’ll eat 3 bowls at a time. But I do have to keep the sweetened foods limited.

I have to say that keifer and other pro-biotic yogurt has changed my digestion for the better.

My daughter’s pediatrician has recommended pro-biotics for her stomach problems, so it is great to hear more information about them.

Yeah!…I’m already a probiotics nut, but it’s good to hear a medical professional back me up. I buy my probiotics in gel-cap form, so I can break them open and dump them into juice for my kids. In addition to probiotics, we also love liquid chlorophyll to promote good digestive health.

Very interesting. I’ll have to keep up with my daily regime of organic yogurt at breakfast time.
I found this podcast via http://modmom.blogspot.com – and I’m glad for the discovery!

I have been researching pro-biotics a lot lately because we have a lot of reflux problems with my son. The problem I have is that we have milk issues and have a difficult time finding probiotics that are not milk based. Any solutions?

I love that Whole Foods is doing podcasts now! Also, I knew I loved Yogurt for a reason

We use probiotics as well as soy yogurts on a daily basis. But, my son also has digestive and bacteria issues. I drive 30 minutes every two weeks to stock up on Whole Foods just for him but I would never do anything different.

Dairy Free Probiotics? Yes, many probiotic formulas may contain dairy, but there ARE dairy-free probiotic products available. One name to look for is SOLGAR. They have several probiotic powders and capsules that fit the bill. They also have probiotics for all ages.

Very interesting. Perhaps my two year old’s love of yogurt is what has kept him safe from tummy bugs so far?
It would be great to have these available for download to put on an iPod; I’d have more time to listen that way.
I came here via http://www.modmom.blogspot.com.

This is wonderful information. I get my meat at Whole Foods every sunday. Some beef, pork and Salmon. I’m an athlete and need lots of protein and now I know I need probiotics to win my races. I’m the US National Champion for over 50 men’s Short Track Ice Speedskating so I’m always interested in fueling myself for best results.

Thanks for the information! After dealing with multiple digestive issues for years, I turned to probiotics which totally cured my problems. Now my entire family eats organic yogurt on a regular basis and we remain problem free.

I’m interested in a good probotic to offer my website customers after their whole body cleanse.
October 15th, 2007 at 12:29 pm
Great! Probiotics are certainly a smart thing to follow a healthy cleanse. Any probiotic supplement that is found on Whole Foods Market shelves will be effective, science-based, and most important, will contain the live active beneficial bacteria the label indicates. Many products are found in the refrigerated section in the Whole Body department, while a few brands do not need to be kept cold (those are great for travel or to keep at the office.) Thanks for your question!

I am still a bit leery about pro-biotics however this podcast helped me see the benefits. I am not nearly as concerned as I was before about safety and siliac damage.
