You asked how to prevent eggs from cracking when hard boiling them. Place uncooked eggs in a pan, cover with cold water, and add about a teaspoon of salt to the water. Cook on high just until water begins to bubble. Reduce heat to simmer, and cook for 15 minutes. Rinse eggs in cold water.
