I’ve used the general homeopathics for my spring allergies. I don’t exactly know what I’m allergic to, so I just do the general kind, which seems to work quite a bit better than Claritin ever has, plus I don’t get really sleepy.
I have no idea why homeopathics are sold in most groceries!

My allergies just kicked in, so I am miserable. I try to stick to natural remedies especially since I am nursing. I didn’t realize there were so manmy varieties of homeopathic allergy relievers.
April 3rd, 2008 at 4:46 pm
Both of my kids suffer with allergies – I’m worried the conventional OTC remedies will cause harmful side affects. I truly believe nature is the answer! Very informative podcast!
April 4th, 2008 at 6:11 am
This has been very helpful since my daughter suffers from allergies. I much prefer something more natural! Thank you!
April 4th, 2008 at 7:39 am
That was good to listen to. I have never really persued a homeopathic solution before. I always hate to medicate my kids when allergy season rolls around and the idea that there are gentler methods of possibly controlling their seasonal allergies has my interest piqued. I really need to look into those options more closely.

We use a lot of homeopathic remedies. I like Hylands ones for kids such as ‘Sniffles n Sneezes.’ I like how the podcast explaimed homeopathy.
April 4th, 2008 at 1:07 pm
Homeopathic health supplements are very effective in keeping yourself at the peak of health and beside it comes without any side effects.

I used to suffer from allergies from mold, mildew and pollen. Since last August, I have been doing the Candida Yeast diet and I barely suffer from them anymore, I am more alert and feel great. I think I’ve only have to take my allergy medicine a handful of times and that is only when I was on vacation and wasn’t eating well. If you don’t have the patience for a diet, I used to take Boron’s drops and those worked good too.
April 4th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
very informative and helpful. thank you.
April 5th, 2008 at 10:43 am
I have serious problems with allergy since I was a baby, and every winter I need to be prepared….I should try homeopathy…my baby girl uses just homeopathy for everything, and she´s doing pretty well…
April 5th, 2008 at 2:39 pm
I’ll have to try some of these for my daughter who sneezes like crazy in the morning.
April 5th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
I’ve had sinus problems for years, especially in the spring, but I also have dogs and cats. Do they have homeopathic remedies with microspcopic pieces of dander? I’d like to get some of that.
April 5th, 2008 at 3:58 pm
Both my son and I have seasonal allergies, I think I”m going to incorporate some of these remedies this summer.
April 6th, 2008 at 2:16 pm
This is great information…most people like to go to the Dr. for the quick fix. We suffer from allergies and love the alternatives knowing the benefits far outweigh any over the counter meds. Thanks.
April 6th, 2008 at 4:07 pm
I suffer from really bad allergies, this was very interesting.
April 6th, 2008 at 5:55 pm
Never had any allergies before but now I do…. due to my pregnancy? I love homeopthic!!
April 7th, 2008 at 12:56 am
I have seasonal allergies (especially in the spring when the trees begin to bloom). I currently enjoy using homeopathic remedies to treat my PMS symptoms with good results, but never thought of using homeopathy for my allergies. I’ll have to try them in the coming weeks. Thanks for the reminder!
April 7th, 2008 at 10:15 am
Thanks for all your comments! Scott, yes, there are homeopathic medicines for indoor allergies, which includes pet dander. There are also products that focus specifically on pet dander. Take a look at bioAllers Pet Allergy products (for people!) in pellet or liquid form. Enjoy Spring!
April 7th, 2008 at 11:55 am
I love Homeopathy, its great for all ages and safe!!
April 8th, 2008 at 9:38 am
so great to know there are options. I’ve suffered hayfever my entire life, but struggle with so many OTC drugs—they zap me right into a coma. Thanks for this! Now if only whole foods would open in Idaho!
April 9th, 2008 at 9:56 am
I’m a little confused. The doctor mentioned that the supplements to help allergies are simply microdoses of the allergen. I don’t understand how that is going to help your allergy, I would think that would make it worse!
I haven’t had any adverse reactions to my Claritin, but then it just makes life so much better I’m not sure I would notice side effects considering my allergies don’t let me breath, make my nose run, eyes water, and I’m sneezing constantly and just plain tired.
April 11th, 2008 at 4:30 pm
I loved the sugar pills. The placebo effect was INCREDIBLE!!!
April 11th, 2008 at 11:12 pm
I love learning about homeopathic remedies for my allergies.
April 12th, 2008 at 12:54 pm
I didn’t know you could add homeopathic medicine to another allergy medicine. I have itchy eyes and sometimes my presciption doesn’t do the job. I wrote down the names of some remedies she mentioned to give them a try.
April 12th, 2008 at 9:13 pm
One of the inactive ingredients in Boiron pellets is lactose, for those of you who are dairy-free.
April 15th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
Sinusalia does work most of the time, not always, but often enough to make a difference.
April 15th, 2008 at 5:57 pm
This webcast was very helpful. It helped re-enforce our choice to use probiotics with our children with allergies.
Thank You.

I am all for homeopathic remedies for allergies and have used them for a couple of years! It is great to see others inspired to do so as well. Thanks for the information!
April 16th, 2008 at 9:46 am
Great to learn that homeopathy is an option that doesn’t interact with other medications. Sounds easy to match symptoms with brands like Borion. I will be trying this with myself and my sons this spring.
April 16th, 2008 at 1:04 pm
I will definitely try this natural way, I really hope I get better results!!
April 17th, 2008 at 6:00 pm
I will recomend some of these to my mother who suffers from yearly allergies
April 19th, 2008 at 2:30 pm

April 22nd, 2008 at 11:39 am
Humm. I did the podcasts in reverse order, so this was a basic on what I had heard before. It makes sense. Will try it out to see if it does relieve symptoms and makes life more breathable.
Thank you for the full 3 part series.
April 22nd, 2008 at 12:12 pm
Fascinating! I have moderate seasonal allergies and spend quite a bit of the spring feeling groggy from the medication. I didn’t realize there were other options.
April 22nd, 2008 at 1:31 pm
This is certainly something that I need to look into….I am not having allergy problems but my husband does have some. I was concerned about interactions with other medications he was taking but according to the pod cast there aren’t any negative interactions. Thank you not only for sponsoring this contest but for using it as a way of informing people of alternatives for dealing with allergies.

April 27th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
This was very helpful as an introduction to homeopathy. I’m just beginning this journey.
April 27th, 2008 at 2:01 pm
Seems like these are gentler ways to deal with allergies than all of the pharmaceutical products out there-most of which make you so drowsy, you’re worthless.
April 27th, 2008 at 9:59 pm
sounds like great ideas!
April 28th, 2008 at 11:38 am

May 2nd, 2008 at 9:50 pm
It was very helpful as my daughter has terrible hay fever.I hope now I can find some homeopathic meds to help her

Wow, it is pretty astonishing – and disappointing – to see that Whole Foods is pushing homeopathy. Homeopathy is one of the most patently absurd forms of pseudoscience among all the “alternative” treatments out there. Many, many studies have been done on homeopathic treatments, and every one has shown that there’s no difference between homeopathy and, well, nothing. The homeopathic pills are just sugar pills, and the liquids are just water, so taking water alone works just as well – as long as you think you’re getting a treatment. As some of the comments above mentioned, there is a genuine placebo effect, which has been well documented, but there’s no need to shell out $$$ for bogus homeopathic “remedies” that consist of little more than water.
Whole Foods should be ashamed of profiting off its customers this way.

Flushing your sinuses with a neti pot is an excellent way to get some relief. The only problem is that you cant use it everywhere. On a recent visit to my allergist she recommended a new “all natural” nasal spray called Sinol Allergy/Sinus nasal spray. For the last two months I have used this product and I love it. Sinol has no harsh side effects but it does a little bite to it when you first begin to use it. Like eating horseradish or wasabi but I like that nose clearing feeling. It will also keep your sinuses drained and bacteria free. I wish I found Sinol years ago.

My daughter was diagnosed as having allergies and her pediatrician wanted to put her on Zyrtec right away. I don’t feel comfortable putting a 14 month old on Zrytec!! I have been giving her probiotics, Nordic Naturals Omega-3 and Nettles & Eyebright by Herbs for Kids. In 2 weeks I have already noticed her symptoms improving!! Atleast give homeopathy a try first!
March 25th, 2009 at 10:01 pm
just had my second sinus surgery and will not do it again. Can anyone offer suggestions on what has worked for them?
May 17th, 2009 at 7:24 pm
I have a 6 month with a pretty intense allergic reaction to something! She can’t breathe through her nose and her eyes are so red and watery it looks as though she is crying! Is there something homepathic I can give her! PLEASE!
June 11th, 2009 at 5:47 pm
is it true that homeopathics start with a base of water and alcohol?
