July 29th, 2008 at 12:48 pm
this is AWESOME!! I LOVE the book green babies sage moms!!! yay for this. I’m a holistic health counselor, meaning – a food and lifestyle expert and yes, this is amazing stuff. we need more of this EVERYWHERE!! I’ve been using natural products – and one day i had to use a conventional shampoo and the fragrance was SO STRONG – so like the comment you said about having to use conventional toothpaste that one time the flavor was REALLY STRONG! I AGREE!!! It’s not good to be breathing in or tasting those STRONG fragrances and flavors.
KUDOS to YOU!!

Great job! I am excited to see the next generation and what they do with the increased awareness they are been exposed to.
July 30th, 2008 at 8:17 am
Great! I love the book, it ranks right up there with “what to do when you are expecting”.
July 31st, 2008 at 7:05 am
Lovely, and the book cover is adorable!
July 31st, 2008 at 11:58 am
Another great piece! It is wonderful to see so much thought behind options for our future generations.
July 31st, 2008 at 12:05 pm
Great topic, great guest, great host, great job!
July 31st, 2008 at 12:17 pm
I love seeing Whole Foods cover Lynda, brilliant.
July 31st, 2008 at 12:44 pm
It is truly important to share fantastic information like this, with as many people as possible. Knowledge is power.
July 31st, 2008 at 12:48 pm
Great stuff. When my boys taste conventional tooth paste they always say “to spicy”
July 31st, 2008 at 9:05 pm
Weleda is the best product I have found for babies and kids! I have been having trouble finding their Diaper cream at your stores, do you no longer carry it? It is like gold when a rash appears.
August 1st, 2008 at 9:53 am
Great to see you speaking to these topics. Gentle Skincare is so important for our little ones.
August 1st, 2008 at 9:56 am
Good to see Whole Foods stepping into social media. I’m a big fan of several of the products covered here.
August 1st, 2008 at 9:58 am
I believe it is important for all of us to consider the types of products we put on our skin.
August 2nd, 2008 at 9:16 am
Love the book, love this coverage, thanks!
August 3rd, 2008 at 9:01 am
Glad to know WF is hip to this book. Indeed we all need to bleed
August 3rd, 2008 at 6:37 pm
Nice video, the clothes in the background are so cute!
August 4th, 2008 at 10:24 am
She is right, Weleda is a tremendous product, it clears skin and diaper rashes overnight.
August 4th, 2008 at 10:30 am
Do you know if fluoride is considered good or bad for kids? I always wonder about this when they use traditional toothpaste.
August 4th, 2008 at 10:31 am
It is amazing to me how kids little systems respond so much to anything we put in or on them. Whether it is sugar, or homeopathic medicine, sun cream or tooth paste, everything has a huge affect, so it is truly important to consider which products they are exposed to.
August 4th, 2008 at 10:34 am
Love the book, it is fun to see the author in person.
August 4th, 2008 at 10:36 am
Great video, fun and educational.
August 4th, 2008 at 10:42 am
Love the book, and look forward to the new one. My kids are 8 and 10 now, they grow up so quickly.
August 4th, 2008 at 10:49 am
First time finding this series, great to see Whole Foods giving back info.
August 4th, 2008 at 10:50 am
Jason has a great shampoo for kids. I’ve noticed that my boys eyes react much less when they get this in their eyes,.
August 4th, 2008 at 10:57 am
Are there plans for a 365 brand childrens hair care line? I really appreciate the value of going natural with kids care, but the price is difficult for me to swallow.
August 4th, 2008 at 11:43 am
Very hip. I like seeing Lynda Fassa live and in the flesh, her book was a bedside fav during our first years.
August 4th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
Weleda is like magic, glad your stores carry their producs, it is hard for me to find elsewhere.
August 4th, 2008 at 2:33 pm
I’m a big fan of weleda products, and first discovered these at your stores.
August 4th, 2008 at 2:36 pm
Nice to see coverage speaking to solid products for kids.
August 4th, 2008 at 2:40 pm
Glad to see Lynda is coming out with a follow up, please do let us know when it is released.
August 4th, 2008 at 2:45 pm
Tom’s makes a great natural kids toothpaste.
August 4th, 2008 at 2:49 pm
@Pamela D Yes! I’m far from being a kid, but I use their Silly Strawberry toothpaste and think it’s swell.
August 4th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
@Devon There are no plans right now for a 365 children’s line, but we are always thankful for your feedback and are keeping options open for new products!
August 4th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
Your fun Winnie! My kids to love the Silly Strawberry.
August 4th, 2008 at 8:32 pm
Love Lynda and her work. Glad you ran this.
August 4th, 2008 at 8:35 pm
Great video.
August 4th, 2008 at 8:39 pm
I’m looking forward to the new book, and hope Whole Foods can run a feature when it is released.
August 4th, 2008 at 8:44 pm
Good to see props for the Weleda products, they are wonderful.
August 4th, 2008 at 8:45 pm
Nice video, although it seems a bit contrived when the guest points out your mineral makeup line as her favorite. Don’t get me wrong this is a great series and I have been following for awhile now.
August 5th, 2008 at 7:49 am
Hi Rory:
I know it seems goofy or suspect, but I really do love Mineral Fusion and honestly would never suggest anything I don’t personally believe in and use. Also Mara didn’t even ask me the brands I was going to talk about–we just walked and talked. But I appreciate you wondering, it gives me the opportunity to explain, because maybe other folks wondered, too.
August 5th, 2008 at 9:16 am
Thanks for the response Lynda! I am a fan of your book, and look forward to your new work, do you have a release date yet?
August 5th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
Yes, it comes out Jan. 1, 2009
Thanks for asking
L
August 5th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
I like seeing a dialogue about ways we can help to keep our kids healthy. Bravo!
August 5th, 2008 at 3:16 pm
Thanks for showing the web more about the author, and her views. Her book was an important part of our childhood.
August 5th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
I agree with other posters, Weleda is an amazing company. I first discovered this when I lived in Germany, and when I can find it I snatch it up in the US. I’ve noticed some Whole Foods have a few of their products.
August 5th, 2008 at 3:26 pm
Glad to hear there is a new book coming up. Once you have become familiar with natural products such as tooth paste and shampoo, it is startling to smell Crest or Head and Shoulders… ouch.
August 5th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
Toothpaste is such an important product to use naturally. Both adults and particularly children swallow a decent amount of paste when brushing.
August 5th, 2008 at 6:28 pm
Love – Green Babies Sage Moms! Great to point out options for kids and for us all to remember to consider these for ourselves as well.
August 6th, 2008 at 7:57 am
I to use the Strawberry paste from Toms and my kids love it. We were out and about last week and they had to use crest and cringed.
August 6th, 2008 at 8:00 am
Thanks for a great video Whole Foods.
August 6th, 2008 at 8:04 am
I used Weleda’s diaper cream on my two little ones, and it worked wonderfully. I have looked for it to give as a baby shower gift, but have had time finding it at my local
WF, they just carry the skin cream. I believe all stores should try to carry the diaper cream, it is the best in the industry.
August 6th, 2008 at 8:10 am
These are great products. I think it is important to consider organic clothes at least for infants, if not tweens. There is so much less off-gassing, and die issues with good quality organic clothes.
August 6th, 2008 at 8:14 am
Looking forward to the new book, my youngest is turning 8 this december. Good coverage, I suppose soon enough it will be time for deodorant
August 6th, 2008 at 8:46 am
Hey, good job here! We use several of these products, and always will.
August 7th, 2008 at 9:34 am
I to agree, Weleda is the best natural product for children.
August 7th, 2008 at 10:56 am
This is good to see. Allot of the natural products are getting back to the root elements people use to use as natural remedies during our grandparents generation.
August 8th, 2008 at 9:01 am
Margie was wondering about fluoride for kids. Thanks for the question, since this is a hot topic. Some people choose fluoridated toothpastes to re-mineralize soft spots on the teeth and to help prevent cavities. Other people feel fluoride in toothpaste is unnecessary and potentially questionable. At WFM, we offer both fluoridated and non-fluoridated toothpastes to meet all our customers’ needs. The American Dental Association (ADA) states “Unless advised to do so by a dentist or other health professional, parents should not use fluoride toothpaste for children less than two years of age.” Please go to the ADA’s page on this issue for more details, and for tips on safe levels for infants and young children: http://www.ada.org/prof/resources/positions/statements/fluoride_infants.asp
August 8th, 2008 at 4:27 pm
Thanks for the supplemental info about fluoride, I’ve always heard different points of view on the subject.
August 10th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
Great book and great coverage, thanks.
August 10th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
Good stuff. Natural products for the kids skin is the way to go.
August 10th, 2008 at 3:42 pm
Glad to hear the new book is coming out in Jan!
August 10th, 2008 at 3:46 pm
Big fan of the John Masters product line, and have used it for some time now. I can tell you that you won’t be disappointed if you explore a natural approach to color.
August 11th, 2008 at 7:51 am
Malia – thanks for the ADA link. I would think if it is not reccomended for 2 year olds it is likely not any better for a 3 + year old. I think I’ll stick to fluoride as it is supplied in the water.
August 12th, 2008 at 6:28 am
I appreciate the info on fluoride, I feel that the dentists and the natural health community provide differing perspectives and it is always best to have as much info as possible then reflect.
August 12th, 2008 at 11:03 am
Great book. I’m glad the will be another, and we can find products like these more an more as time goes by..
August 12th, 2008 at 3:26 pm
Great to see this group action from these teens!
August 15th, 2008 at 8:47 am
Good work covering not only the topic, but featuring Lynda. We really enjoy her book.
August 18th, 2008 at 8:31 am
Thanks for the coverage speaking for our little ones.
August 18th, 2008 at 8:37 am
Good to see Lynda live and in the flesh! I am looking forward to her next book.
August 18th, 2008 at 8:52 am
Thanks to Malia above on the info concerning fluoride, solid link.
August 18th, 2008 at 9:49 am
Brilliant! Great idea, I appreciate this and the time works great before school starts back up.
August 20th, 2008 at 1:55 pm
Great to see Lynda covered!
August 20th, 2008 at 2:32 pm
I really like this book, and appreciate that you are promoting its concepts. Kids are so creative, if they get their brains around conservation we will all benefit!
August 20th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
Lynda is a fantastic role model for natural lifestyles. Good job finding her and bringing us this coverage!
August 21st, 2008 at 5:21 pm
Nice concept! lynda is right on!!!
August 21st, 2008 at 6:19 pm
I really like the ideas put forth here and feel like they are simple actions we can all take.
August 21st, 2008 at 6:25 pm
My boy is starting to reach the age for deodorant. We’ll give this a shot first.
August 21st, 2008 at 7:54 pm
Great to put forth this conversation. The minds of tweens can pick this up and run with it!
August 22nd, 2008 at 5:58 am
As many natural products as you can afford to use the better. It really is a health and lifestyle switch which adds to the longevity and quality of life.
August 22nd, 2008 at 11:41 am
This is a great book, a classic really. Good ideas for all kids young and old
August 26th, 2008 at 2:16 pm
We have been having fun at the end of this summer, doing fun art projects together. We’ll take the spirit of this to heart and create some fun projects and come back and post them here!
August 27th, 2008 at 6:53 am
Great ideas here! This would good information to put out during Earth Day as well.
August 28th, 2008 at 1:39 pm
I am a big fan of this book and have actually bought it about 5 times, to give to friends. Glad to see whole foods is aware and promoting such a great work!
August 28th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
Nice props for Lynda Fassa. Great visionary she is.
August 28th, 2008 at 2:15 pm
From earlier comments:
“The American Dental Association (ADA) states “Unless advised to do so by a dentist or other health professional, parents should not use fluoride toothpaste for children less than two years of age.”
Considering this warning I just don’t think that fluoride can be beneficial for kids.
August 28th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
Good job WFM! Lynda is a champion of simple things an idivudal can do to help bring a change to our world.
August 29th, 2008 at 7:15 am
Good ideas for families to consider together. It is great when our young ones drive new visions for the older generation.
September 1st, 2008 at 10:50 am
I’m a big fan of this book! It is good to see WF covering Lynda
September 2nd, 2008 at 4:01 pm
