I was just looking in the blogroll and noticed you linked to The Oil Drum, which is one of my favorite sites. :)! They are also on twitter: @TheOilDrum. You should follow them too, especially if you want to learn about energy and our future...not for the faint of heart!

I enjoy your Tweets with the new store items and links to the receipes. Great to see more and more businesses joining into social networks, like Twitter.

This scheme is full of problems, like you said, you're already worried about safety. Plus, your customer service people are going to be distracted, and how do we know they won't call up their friends to pick up the gift cards?

A way better way: Keep this Internet based, don't even bother customer service. You find xyz company to sponsor the gift cards, like let's say you want to do apple juice. You Twitter something like "Find the price of xyz apple juice at xyz store, enter the exact price into this form http://tinyurl/blah"

To claim your prize you must go to the store, find the product (probably you will buy it) and then you go to the web link that has the form where you enter the price of the item, then you enter your address and the giftcard is sent to you. Post all the winners on that page in realtime.

Do only one gift card for each item, that way you know nobody is cheating by telling their friends about the web form. If you don't use my idea I'm calling HEB ;-)
