Re blog of coffee in Ecuador: I have been looking for a "recipe" for making essencia. When I lived in Ecuador, the method to make coffee essence was to pour water over used grounds and then pour that water over fresh grounds. There is nothing on-line about this method. If you can find a method i'd be grateful. Thanks.

Interesting report, being lived for many years in Loja, this are news to us. I would like to point out two things though: Loja is not a department, it's a province in the Southern Ecuador; and Quilanga might be geographically a sub-region of Espindola, but Quilanga is a canton, same as Espindola or Calvas.

Hope you can make enough budiness from Ecuadoran caffee harvest!
