The last issue of the whole deal/Mambo Sprouts (August15-Sept 30) is great. Thanks for putting in something for meals for one. You even included an entire weeks shopping list. I modified it to be vegetarian friendly and its nice to have handy.

Hey Winnie Hsia. I never received an email from you regarding the gift card and wanted to make sure I didn't miss it. Our spam filter has been going crazy lately and I have missed some other emails.
Thanks!

I have three kids and we’re on a strict budget. So, money really counts, but no matter what, I always find a way to make a trip to Whole foods because the food is organic, fresher, and local. So, one way to stretch the dollar is to buy the fruits on sale (usually they are more ripe anyway) and not the pre-cut fruits. Yesterday, I bought a whole honeydew melon on sale, came home, cut it up and put it in containers so the kids can grab them anytime and snack on it. But if I bought the pre-cut fruit, the same amount of fruit would’ve cost triple. Another tip is freezing the portable yogurts and then cutting them in half to give to toddlers. That way, you don’t waste what your little one can’t finish.

Double Your Produce Dollars with Mixed Greens and Root Veggies

Buy turnips, daikon, beets and double your produce value. The "tops" of each of these root veggies make delicious cooked greens and of course you have the "bottoms" for roasting, making kimchee or delicious veggie side dishes.

Here's how~~~

Trim the "tops" as soon as you get home, wash and prep for easy steamed or sauteed greens.

The "bottoms" aren't as perishable, but will be ready for your favorite treatment.

We love the beautiful, fresh veggies available at Whole Foods in Devon, PA and time our trips around the twice weekly farmer's market held in the parking lot.

I must say, when I shop at Whole Foods I feel confident knowing that the food is of superior quality. I don't have to worry about feeding my family cloned, antibiotic laden beef! It's worth the extra money for organic beef, chicken, ice cream, and etc. I also must compliment the bakery. The breads are truly deliscious and wholesome with much variety, from authentic Italian, French and Rosemary bread (which is out of this world!). The pumpkin muffins are the best I ever had and are addictive. I can't say enough about Whole Foods , everything is excellent!
