I speak as an MD. The US government recommendations for daily sodium consumption are excessive. They are higher than what is healthy; people should be consuming less sodium than the government recommends. If you examine the Whole Food soup label, you will find that they contain significant percentages of the US recommended daily amount. I find this disturbing. Why does Whole Foods add any salt at all to their soups? Shouldn’t the consumer be able to decide how s/he would like her soup salted? Whole Foods should not be adding any salt at all to its soups. Leave the choice to the customer.

After discussing how delicious Whole Foods prepared foods salmon corn chowder tastes, I was asked what the sodium content of this soup might be. I have searched your site and I am having no success finding the answer. I purchased this soup at the Whole Foods in Pittsburgh, PA. It’s one of my favorite of the prepared foods you make and I would like to let my friend know the sodium content. Could you please find this information for me? Thanks.
