I love these Secret Ingredient podcasts and find they give me so much inspiration for cooking at home!

I wish the comments here wouldn't be quite so spiteful! For folks concerned about grammar and pronunciation, it's surprising how many spelled QUINOA incorrectly! ;-)

I just made this recipe last week. Love it! Instead of water, I cooked the quinoa with Organic Chicken Broth. I also used fresh English Peas from WFM Produce Dept.

You may want to look into any number of vegan meat alternatives - seitan would likely be the best in terms of texture and taste if you want something very similar to the chicken. Just ask in your local store for what they've got and I'm sure a helpful Team Member can guide you to a bevy of options.

HI! i love the video and great Quinoa intro. But given that so many of your customers are vegetarians, could you tell us how to substitute the gorgeous roasted chicken in this recipe for something else? i love the salty, meaty, savory texture of the chicken but HELP- i am trying to go vegetarian and still want to make your dish.
Thank you Whole Foods for existing in my market of Minneapolis/St.Paul. we love you.

I made this meal as a side without the chicken but instead added fresh rosemary and italian parsley. It was delicious alongside grilled haddock and a fresh salad. I think the addition of more flavor using herbs contributed significantly.

I do like quinua and sometimes serve it instead of rice with my curry. Has anyone tried that? If not I advise it :)

I liked the way they showed how easy it is to cook quinua. I cook it in different forms, and the truth is that the grain absorbs flavors easily, and it has a mild yet pleasant flavor, making it easy to combine with vegetables or white meat.

Not to be fastidious, but I would like to comment on the pronounciation of the cook. The word quinua comes from a spanish interpretation of a quechua word. In both languages, the accent is placed on the first syllable, not the last one. The way they pronounce it in the video makes it sound french, instead.

I have used this recepie with black quinoa, its a little more crunchy and i preffer it. Black quinoa is crunchier in texture and has a stronger grain-like flavor.
