@Kathleen Yes, in general we do carry wines with no added sulfites. Please check with your local store's wine department as our product mix varies by store. Thanks!

While shopping at your Aventura, FL store this week, I was pleased to see there was a nice supply of Escudo Rojo available and best of all, there was a $2.00 discount off the normal retail price (I had already priced the wine in two other stores at the higher price....so the discount was for real). For anyone interested in a value priced red with high character, Escudo Rojo can be an excellent choice. Thanks to the influences and financial resoruces of the Baron Philippe de Rothchild empire, I like to think future years will bring even more refinements in this wine (and maybe the prices won't go of the charts). Thanks for carrying this great Chilean red!

Hi Julie! Our apologies for your frustrating experience in trying to purchase wine at our new store in Paramus, NJ.

Just thought I'd provide you a little bit of insight as to why it is difficult to find wine without added sulfites. First, all wine contains some sulfites, as it is a natural byproduct of the fermentation process. Most all winemakers, even the organic ones, add more sulfites to the wine as a preservative. Wine without add sulfites goes "bad" very quickly and can become vinegar in a matter of months; as a result, they have a short shelf life.

Studies have shown that sulfites cause little to no problems in most people without allergies and asthma, even when large amounts are consumed. Often, when people experience an uncomfortable reaction to wine, it is caused by other factors and not simply the sulfites.

I hope that this information has helped clarify why our sulfite-free wine selection is not more robust. Thanks for commenting!

I recently visited the new store in Paramus, NJ. I was severely disappointed to find that most of the wine selections contained sulfites. I say most, but I failed to find any organic offering not containing sulfites. Granted I did not spend very much time looking. I did, however, ask the clerk and she seemed clueless. There was an overabundance of displays throughout the store and a quick look confirmed that they all contained sulfites. Even the stores own 365 brand did. I expected better. I also e-mailed the store itself and did not get any response at all.

Hi Martha, due to city, county and state laws - some of our stores are unable to carry alcoholic beverages of any kind.
