As Principal of Albert Einstein Academy Charter School I am extremely proud of the group who produced this inspiring video and also our entire community which is serious about educating the WHOLE CHILD! We are thrilled to have a visit from Chef Ann and to get the process started for providing a healthier alternative for our students. Many thanks to Whole Foods!

Since finding out that Albert Einstein Academies won, the buzz at our school has started. We are SO excited to be have Chef Ann come to help us develop a new lunch program. Our school has such great leadership and parent volunteers that make so many wonderful things happen here. Not only do the kids benefit from such a grassroots effort, they are a part of it. We have 6 campus gardens, started by our kids, their parents and other volunteers and we just started a program in association with a local restaurant called Alchemy, to teach our kids to cook using healthy foods at home. This Whole Foods Lunchroom makeover is the missing piece to our progress towards a healthier student body. Thank you so much Whole Foods for this opportunity!!!

I volunteer at a school called http://www.auberle.org/ The FOOD! It is fried, refined and beige. The kitchen is hardly functioning. ( The children live here!) The fan overhead covered in geese barely hanging on. These are children in desperate need in so many ways. What about all the studies on how food affects learning, mood, and of course long term health. I think prisoners eat better! So sad.
