Wow there was a lot of information piled into that podcast. I am a big believer in not reducing your fever with medicine during an illness. Like Dr. Brooke mentioned, the fever burns out the bad stuff from your blood stream.

Good to hear support for my natural intuition. I always find myself taking garlic, lemon, and hot pepper and ginger with warm water when I am feeling below the weather. It feels like it cleanses the system.

Natural herbs, and vitamins source through fruits and veggies work much better for me then traditional cough and flu medicines. Ginger and garlic seem to have the best affect, along with honey and lemon water.

I agree that medicinal support can really help keep one healthy through the flu and cold season. I start these cold mornings with lemon, honey, hot pepper and warm water, and it really seems to help.

I didn’t think about some of these as natural remedies. It makes sense- that if you keep your blood clear it helps keep your health clear. Great podcast.

My mother would give me warm water with ginger and lemon and honey as a child when I had swollen glands or sore throats. It still is comforting for me to this day, and I really believe it provides medicinal relief.

I always thought that my husband was crazy for putting so much garlic and cayanne pepper in his food in fall and winter. He tells me that it keeps him healthy, but I always assumed he just didn’t like me one pan danndies. Looks like he is on to something.

I work in nutrition education. I am directing students toward this series. It is refreshing to see topics such as wellness, mood, natural health, covered on a commercial website.

It is very important to let your child and your self have a fever and not just bring it down with medicine. The temperature really helps fight fevers.

I am all about vitamin C. It actually has tremendous affects on animals as well as people. Once I saved my dog from parvo by getting her to swallow a lot of powder C.

I sure wish I had read this 3 weeks earlier. My boys have both brought big time colds back from their schools. I am supporting their systems with Zinc and wellness formula now, which should help speed their recovery.

Chris did an earlier podcast about food and well being and I think the idea of the medicinal value of plants and herbs is tide to how we enjoy the experience of the food.

My mom always had us bundle up and “sweat out” a cold when we were young. I still do this, and think it really helps to raise your body temperature to burn out invaders.
