Even though Whole Foods is such a huge chain of stores, it’s so cool to see that the business finds women like Ms. Keehn to support.
She definitely comes across as a down to earth mom who was looking for a healthy way to care for her kids! It’s inspiring to see how far she’s come with her company since her first goat.

Wow, i remember the frist days of Cypress Grove Chevre. I sued to sell hay and grain to Mary when she was first Milking Goats. Today I live in Southern California, shop at Whole Foods and always ask for CG cheeses at the cheese counter in my local store in Thousand Oaks. When people see me select the cheese, I tell them I know the maker and guarantee it is the finest hand crafted goat cheese they can experience.
COngratulations on a stunning mission statement too MARY!
Kindest regards,
Jen Shoffner (former store manager at Ranch Supply Co. Arcata)

Love the energy, love the committment, love the experimental innovations … but I thought that Chevre was the Hebrew word “chevrah” – which is a fellowship or group of friends united for a good purpose.
Then again …..

I had Humboldt Fog in San Francisco on a recent visit. It is most delicious. I wonder if the new cheese, Truffle Tremor (?) would also be good with Bosc pears baked with dessert wine (and of course, dessert wine to drink, too!).

My first taste of Cypress Grove Chevre was their Purple Haze when I was out in Pt. Reyes 2 years ago at the Cow Girl Creamery. It blew me away! I was so thrilled when I found that Whole Foods in Chicago carried it. Their Humboldt Fog is equally amazing. Mary Keehn and her staff are huge talents in the world of cheesemaking. I’m so grateful for their dedication to the craft.

I was first introduced to Humboldt Fog by my mother. She originally found “The Fog” on her quest to help her husband in his cancer battle. She shared it with me when we were at Strawberry Music Festival in Yosemite, listening to Micheal Franti and Spearhed. She felt it appropriate to eat Divine food in a Divine atmosphere. I have been a fan ever since. There is even a Facebook fan page for The Fog….
I recently moved to Texas and I had planned to order from the farm, wondering how I could ever eat the bulk amount an order required at the time? I was elated to find The Fog at the nearest Whole Foods. How delightful to hear of the Love, Intention and Grace put into it’s creation. Thanks to Mary for her brilliant work and Divine cheese. Thank you

Cypress Grove has been the pinacle of consistant and inspiring goat cheese for the west coast for many years now and it is great to hear Ms. Keehn’s story!! I love the marketing behind the product as well. Creative names that not only discrbe the cheese but the feeling of the Hombolt Coast.

One sandwich that I love you left out. Grilled Pimento Cheese. I make my own at home with just enough hot sauce for tang (Whole Foods makes good “stuff” too.)and grilled on a good grain bread….oh my what a taste.
