We have the strictest standards in the industry for farmed seafood and only Whole Foods Market’s standards prohibit added hormones for farm-raised tilapia. Learn about our farmer partners and how they grow fish the old fashioned way, by letting fish reproduce naturally.
All the more reason you’ll want to stock up during our first-ever, one-day sale on fresh tilapia. Tilapia freezes well so buy extra to freeze but remember to use it within 60 days for the best quality and flavor.
Here are some great ideas for tilapia: Try a super easy and quick dinner with Baked Tilapia with Lemon-Thyme Flaky Salt. Or for a little dressier meal, try Broiled Tilapia with Shitake Red Rice Pilaf, a delightful choice served with sautéed spinach and a rice pilaf with shitake mushrooms and Bhutanese Red Rice.

Awhile back I coated some talapia in Pablo and made homemade fish sticks for my hubs. They were a hit. Maybe I’ll try them again tonight!

I wasn’t able to take advantage of the sale at my Upper West Side Whole Foods, at 2:00 pm when I got there, it was all gone. Certainly no chance of “stocking up” as suggested at your website. This is not the first time WF has run out of the item. During a really good special some time ago (maybe shrimp) there was nothing left at 9 am, which seemed especially egregious. A no rain check policy adds to the annoyance.

I purchased tilapia on Friday and baked/broiled half and fried the other half. My 9-year-old said, “Mom, let’s make every Friday Tilapia night!” Everyone enjoyed the fish…they were YUMMY!

I bought 8 pieces of the tilapia. It is the best tilapia I have ever eaten. I hope you have another sale soon.

I would like to know were you get your Tilapia. I believe that it is a farmed fish that lives with farmed salmon and swims around eatting the farmed salmon poop to keep the cages clean. I would do alittle research on tilapia before I eat it again.

Disappointed with the taste of Whole Foods’ tilapia. I’ve had better.
